The wedding of Fernando Poe Jr. and Susan Roces is now digitally restored!
The millennials might not recognize him but for his avid fans since the 1950s, who would forget the ‘Da King’ of Filipino action movies, Fernando Poe Jr. He was known for his action stunts, his famous lines and the moral lesson from the films. Since his passing, ‘Da King’ is not for once forgotten by his fans. His legacy and contribution to the Philippine movie industry will remain forever and will be remembered by all ages.
On May 23, 2006, Poe was posthumously declared a National Artist of the Philippines for Film by President Macapagal-Arroyo and confirmed by President Benigno Aquino III on July 20, 2012. The award was presented to his family on August 16.
Also, who would forget his memorable wedding with another Filipino iconic actress, Susan Roces? The couple was known as “Susan and Ronnie”, a powerful couple and admired by many in their generation. Their long-lasting and strong romantic relationship stands amidst all controversies.
In 1968, Susan and Ronnie’s wedding is the much-awaited wedding during that time. How could we know amazing it was? Well, through the stories of our grandmothers and grandfathers.
Thankfully, our technology today were advanced as before and so, the younger generations could now witness the epic wedding of the two icons with the help of film restoration.
50 years have passed, their wedding footage could not be barely appreciated, especially the millennials, as it was in full black and white and its age would be easily identified through the evident light leaks, film flashes, dirt, and scratches.
However, the FPJ Productions restored the wedding film and we can now clearly see how beautiful the couple was during their wedding. Susan was elegantly beautiful and Fernando Poe Jr. was also dashing. No doubt why girls were head over heels towards him.
One Facebook user also shared the couple’s wedding footage from the preparation to the wedding itself.
